Where to find the best place to host your blog
If you don't know what a host is:
it's the company that runs your blog (or any web site for that matter). For example blogger.com is the biggest blog host
So to get a blog out in the world you have to have a host. Like I said in the guide, you don't want to actually use a free blog host such as blogger.com. You want full control and you want to be making the money off your blog - not them.
The good news is that it doesn't have to cost much either.
I'd say the best place to go for blog hosting right now is Host Gator.
They give you everything you need for $6.95/month (about as low as you can get for reputable and reliable blog hosting). This allows you to have your own website, including a blog. Plus if you step up to their "baby" plan ($9.95 per month), they'll host as many blogs as you want.

You may be surprised that I didn't recommend a host that's only about hosting blogs. You can get hosting that's only for blogs, and it is a little easier to get started, but you end up paying too much if you do multiple blogs (which you should be doing to really make money) and they end up being a bit limited. With true hosting you have all the power you ever need if you ever want things down the road. For example with Host Gator, and other good hosts, you can add a discussion forum, or do a newsletter, or just about anything else, without it costing more.
I should also mention that there are different types of blog software that can be used, to actually run your blog. There are a number of different ones out there, but the premier one is WordPress. WordPress has all the power you need, while still being relatively easy to use. Not only is it great for doing blogs, but there are a number of people doing "add-ons" for it, so if you ever want to get more advanced you can.
Most good hosts give WordPress as a free option, with your account. But I recommend choosing a host that allows for easy installation of WordPress. And Host Gator gives that too - they have what they call "one-click installation" of WordPress. So it's almost like having your blog right "out of the box". You just have to do a quick step to do it ... and then you're ready to do power blogging!
